This program is designed to help the elderly and in need persons and not to be taken advantage of by just anyone with plenty of means. Freely donated help varies widely due to the requests received, matched with many God-given skills represented in parish members. Examples include help moving furniture, trimming trees, raking leaves, computer assistance, help with shopping, simple repairs, small area painting, tax assistance, and cleaning an area such as a garage, attic, or basement. Neither medical nor transportation needs are included in this program.
Parents or grandparents, if you are you looking for a wonderful opportunity to model generosity to your family, consider becoming a volunteer in this ministry and take your child(ren) with you to fulfill requests. You may find yourself making new friends and experiencing the grace that comes from helping others in need.
