McGivney who in 1882 as a parish priest in New Haven, CT, founded the order to fortify Catholics in their faith, provide greater financial security is a world in which they faced heavy discrimination, and strengthen their self-worth. In 2020 Fr. McGivney was beautified. Today, the Knights, two million strong, continue to provide charity, unity, and fraternity to their local parishes and communities.
