Childcare

The Childcare Ministry provides a service to parents/guardians who wish to attend the 9:30 or 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday open to children one and walking to age 3 years. It is also to help parents participate in formation and education programs or events opportunities, or volunteer in the school and parish. Childcare is held in the Parish Welcome Center on the first floor behind the library in the St Gabriel room. Drop off time is 15 minutes before the service. Please bring your own diaper bag and supplies.Childcare is offered during the week, during the school year for children 1 and walking to 6 years. Please refer to the childcare calendar for specific dates and times.

While the ministry is not intended to be academic or instructional by nature, we do strive to make the program interactive and engaging for the children.

The Childcare Ministry is overseen by the Childcare Coordinator Michelle Dietz (who reports to the Parish Business Manager Joan Cardone) and is staffed by paid Childcare Workers. All Childcare Ministry Workers have completed the Archdiocesan Decree on Child Protection and have completed background checks through this course. In addition, the Childcare Staff has been CPR/First Aid Certified as of August 2009.

Any family wishing to use the services of the Childcare Ministry must complete a Registration Form and a Medical/Health/Special Needs Form for each child. One parent MUST remain on church/school property while their children are in our care and must be easily contacted by cell phone.

Additional hours may be requested for church or school functions by contacting the Childcare Coordinator and filling out a Request Form. The request goes through an approval process and the requesting party will be contacted to whether or not the additional childcare hours have been approved. The childcare room is best set up to watch children for a three hour period, however four hours is the maximum allowed per request. Upon approval and depending on the function, it is determined if there is a cost for the additional hours. It is recommended that requests are made 6 weeks before the event. Our room capacity varies due to staff and number of children. Reservations are recommended or it is on a first come basis.
